Around The World in 11 Weeks

Travel plans cancelled or simplified?  Bored kids that need creative stimulation?

Join us as we virtually visit 11 countries this summer and learn about their geography and cultures!  We will ‘travel’ six continents by watching videos, reading books, making food, creating hands on projects, completing fun learning activities, and more!

Each week in your email, you will receive a link to all the resources and a printable packet to download.  About 10-15 hours of activities will be provided, but feel free to do more or less! And have I mentioned all of this is FREE?

Download your Passport to get started, read the instructions below and then check your email each week!  Your passport contains a notebooking page for each country as well as world and continent maps to locate and color each country you study.

Organize Your Fun

To follow along all summer, you may want to purchase 3-ring notebooks and dividers (11 if you study all the countries) for each child.  These can hold the notebooking pages included in the Passport above, the country-specific printables you will receive each week from us and any recipes or other resources you print out for the different countries.

How to Schedule Your Week

Here is a suggested schedule for each week:

Prepare by picking one or two of the suggested books for the week, printing that week’s packet, and gathering materials for that week’s hands-on projects and recipes.

Throughout the week: Read the books you picked either independently or as a family read aloud.  Play music from the country.

Day 1: Find the country for the week on a map.  Watch videos about the country, start the notebooking page, do a hands-on activity, and complete a fun printable page.

Day 2: Learn about famous people from that country, learn a little of the language and complete another hands-on activity and/or fun printable page.

One evening: Make food from the country for dinner and watch a family movie related to that country.

Optional Day 3: Complete an additional hands-on activity and/or complete a printable page for the country. Complete a summary sheet for the book(s) you read.
