Learn about Giotto, often called the father of the Renaissance, with this short unit study!  Complete with video links, book suggestions and fun activities this unit study will provide a couple hours of fun learning in your homeschool!

This is the first in a series of nine Artist Mini Unit Studies starting at the beginning of the Renaissance and ending with Georgia O’Keefe and American Modernism.

Picture Study: Memory work that trains the eye to see the details in one of Giotto’s paintings.

Notebooking Page: Take notes and/or draw pictures while you watch the videos and read the books.

Listening to Learn Activity: Parents read directions about Giotto while children color, draw and write on a a scene of the inside of a chapel where Giotto painted some of his most famous works.

Sorting Activity: Sort nine paintings either painted by Giotto or painted in the Byzantine style.

Hands-on Activities: Draw emotions, paint frescoes, make a comic strip and visiting an art museum.
