Description
Pi Day is March 14th! Celebrate it with this 8 page booklet. Includes hands on activities to walk students through what the number Pi is and how it is used. It begins with a review of the area of rectangles, relates this to finding the area of circle, and then gives a brief history of mathematicians involved in finding Pi. Students then practice finding the area and circumference of circles using Pi.
This is a great way to introduce Pi to upper elementary students. For younger students, check out our Build A Pie Fraction Game.
