The Book about the Super Bowl

The Super Bowl unit study was created to use with What is the Super Bowl? (112 pages).  You may choose to use this book as a read aloud or have 3rd graders and up read it independently.

The Super Bowl Printable Unit Study

The printable portion of the unit study includes the following:

Super Bowl Notebooking Pages: Take notes about the Super Bowl and fill in the charts with who played and won in each Super Bowl.

Biography of A Player or Coach: Use this page to organize notes on one of the many players and coaches highlighted in the book and/or research a player or coach on your own.

Writing Prompt: Send a thank you letter to your favorite player for how they played this year and/or how they contributed to your community.

Compare the Super Bowl Teams: Complete the Venn diagram about the strengths and weaknesses of this year’s Super Bowl Teams.  Then decide which one you think will win.

Create Your Own Team: Choose a team name, city, mascot, colors and logo for your own football team.  Then design the helmet and jersey for your team.

Make Fun Super Bowl Food

The Super Bowl is a great time to get in the kitchen with your kids and make some food!  Really any snack food is fun, but here are a few football-themed foods.  (If the thought of cooking with your kids makes your eye twitch, check out these eight tips!)

Make a cheese and pepperoni football and serve with crackers.

Try this football-themed take on pigs in a blanket…pigskins in a blanket!
